Definitions:

Species- A single, distinct class of living creature with features that distinguish it from others.

Population- a community of individuals of the same plant or animal species that inhabit the same area, potentially interbreed, and share the same gene pool.

Habitat- The physical and biological environment on which a given species depends for its survival.

Niche- The role or functional position of a species within the community of an ecosystem.

Ecosystem- A community of organisms and the physical environment in which they interact.
